Rosters Manager

About the team:

The Roster Team is part of the Customer Service and Operations Directorate, being a Roster Manager for GWR is a fast-paced role working with a fantastic team who are highly motivated and willing to go the extra mile to deliver for our internal customers.

About the job:

The role is responsible for the delivery of daily and weekly Rosters for Drivers, Guards and Customer Hosts across the entire GWR network, the role involves working closely with Depot Managers and our Crew Delivery Team also handling queries from our Front-Line Colleagues. This is not a 9 – 5 role the Roster Team work a roster from 0630 hrs – 1900 hrs including weekend working.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Using various computer-based packages to create Weekly and Daily Rosters
  • Handle telephone and email queries in a polite and professional manner
  • Work to Terms and Conditions agreed with our Trade Unions
  • Various Administration duties
  • Build good relationships with our Train Planning Department and Crew Management

You'll need to be:

  • Computer literate ideally in Office 365, Trust, Crewplan and Voyager plan however training can be given
  • Very proactive with a good eye for detail willing to challenge to create robust Rosters
  • Flexible to help meet the needs of the business
  • Great organisation and communication skills
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of GWR network

As a minimum you'll need to have:

  • Passion and ability to deliver a first-class service to our colleagues
  • A willingness to learn systems and processes
  • Live within 1 hour of Swindon
  • Great IT skills

About the location:

The role is based in Western House our Integrated Control Centre shared with our colleagues from Network Rail in Swindon, the offices are 5 minute's walk from the Rail and Bus Station. We are also minutes away from the Designer Outlet Centre and Town Centre with an array of shops and eating establishments. There is also a Cafeteria on site serving home cooked breakfast and lunches Monday – Friday.

Working Pattern:

Working as part of a Roster covering 37 hours per week over 7 days on a early late turn rotation.
