About the team

Colleague Experience and People Insight team are responsible for leading on all aspects of engagement, reward and colleague experience, with the overall aim of enhancing employees' experience of working for GWR. The team own and produce data to provide the business with insights on all people related activity.


About the job

You will pro-actively support the Human Resources Systems Manager and the wider HR Team in their core activities by providing administration duties to ensure the effective recording and use of all Human Resources Data.


What you'll be doing

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the administration of the HR systems for GWR and other FirstGroup Businesses
  • Update the HR System with personnel data and documents
  • Support administration and maintenance of the Electronic Personnel Files System
  • Provide user support
  • Maintain User Security Credentials
  • Maintain the quality of data through consistency checks
  • Communicating with all levels of the business to gather data
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Generate reports using the HR System and Microsoft Office


About you

You'll need to be:

  • Great team player with the ability of work well as a team player and also on an individual capacity
  • Flexible, committed and an enthusiastic self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Adaptable to change and willing to learn
  • Can work to tight deadlines and prioritise accordingly
  • Resilient during times of high demand


As a minimum you'll need to have:

  • Previous experience in data entry
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
  • Proven experience in applying attention to detail
  • Experience with working on HR Systems or other similar system
  • Ability to work with numerous IT applications and experience cross referencing information from different sources
  • A good communicator, both written and verbal

About the location:

Milford House is located within a very short walk from the train station and the town centre. 


Working Pattern:

0900-1700, Monday-Friday.


Additional Information:

Some flexibility is required, as the key support for the Project Manager in implementing the new HR system you will be required to travel around our network to facilitate implementation and training.
