SAP Support Analyst

The UK Rail SAP team are looking for a dedicated SAP Support Analyst to join the team and provide support for the service.

This service is provided to all elements of the UK Rail Division including the Train Operating Companies as well as the central Rail function, First Rail Holdings. It is used by staff at all levels including the rail exec management team, based nationally. This is a time critical environment so will suit someone who is looking to work in a fast paced, challenging and ultimately very rewarding environment.

Your main duties will be to:

•Be subject matter expert for SAP, especially security concepts
•Administer security authorization and role creation
•Maintain security design and admin process documentation
•Suggest and implement enhancements that will support growth and improve systems security.
•Perform system reviews and limit access to ensure that work is performed in accordance with the security policies
•Work with the other IT and business teams to provide specialized SAP security for projects; minimizing segmentation of duties and responsibilities that could conflict
•Good knowledge of CO and FI (Universal GL, AP, AR) modules, in particular from a business usage perspective
•An understanding of Accounting, Controlling and Finance processes
•Good Knowledge of procurement process (Material Management)
•An analytical perception, a structured way of working and an ability to get things done
•Primary contact for administration of the UK Rail SAP environment
•Providing UK Rail SAP systems day-to-day support: providing quality and timely support of SAP business application in use across any TOC. Escalating to the SAP Manager any issues requiring their support and managing the process
•Perform project based requirements gathering and documentation to facilitate the timely processing of changes to the SAP landscape.
•Perform user access and Licence Management reviews on a regular basis.
•Liaison between business users and 3rd Party support suppliers to facilitate fix or development testing and implementation of changes.    

Required Skills and Experience

•Proven SAP experience in appropriate modules
•Ability to translate technical requirements to the business and ultimately bridge the gap between technical and business users using appropriate language
•Ability to set objectives, prioritize, plan and to do work independently, with minimal direct supervision
•A basic understanding of resource estimation and change management planning in an environment where release management will be used to manage change
•Strong client relationship skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
•Fluency in English (speaking, writing)
