Engineering Testing Manager (9098)

The Testing Manager is responsible for the building and maintaining of test plans and scripts at each logical project stage across phases of the engineering implementation. Working closely with the project and implementation team, to effectively plan with SME resources to co-ordinate testing to ensure high quality delivery and system acceptance criteria to a high standard.

It is essential that the Testing Manager ensures quality documentation as well as organising and controlling the testing process, in parallel maintaining the test plan ensuring visibility of issues and resolution through change management. The role is important in supporting the engineering objectives and software reliability and performance are paramount across the technology and engineering solutions.

The Testing Manager will support and ensure the successful completion of acceptance testing based on defined criteria leading to the successful deployment of and Enterprise Asset Management system and interfaces across business services.

It is essential that the role helps UK Bus to transform fleet engineering and overcome its barriers, challenges and ensures efficiencies, wide system user adoption and promotes a standardised approach to engineering process.

The role is key to ensure effective planning, monitoring and control of testing activities across a multi-phased project and responsible for the preparation of test data and environment readiness to safeguard a quality production system for go live and ongoing support.

Key Accountabilities

  • Devise test objectives, plans and policies in agreement with key stakeholders
  • Help design, document and maintain test system processes and procedures
  • Communicate test strategies and plans to engineering team and cross department
  • Support & control the data accuracy and quality delivery of software per design
  • Bridge and address software testing problems across functions and stakeholders
  • Understand engineering process flows, documentation and change processes
  • Managing risk of data, environments and prevent slippage to meet project timescales
  • Create testing efficiencies through automating and toolset / techniques
  • Working with evolving systems and data – fuel, retail, business analytics
  • Work closely with the PMO to ensure technology programme delivery

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required
Do you have wide ranging analysis experience (bus industry not essential) (engineering would be beneficial)
Are you familiar with system IT security & access controls and experience of Microsoft office products, and an excellent knowledge of Excel, Visio?
Do you have strong analytical skills along with excellent standard of written and verbal presentation skills?
Can you communicate with impact and engage effectively with senior stakeholders?
Do you have and innovative approach to problem solving with ability to identify and prioritise workload effectively?
Do you have an excellent understanding of process management, leading to implementing change?
Can you ensure effective and timely communications with internal stakeholders and operating companies?
