Engineering Training Manager (8981)

FirstBus UK are looking for an Engineering Training Manager to join the team. The role will have a national remit so travel across our UK depots will be essential along with regular meetings at our offices in London.

The Engineering Training Manager will ensure that training needs for the Infor project are identified and delivered, thus supporting a smooth system integration through competency of users.
You will ensure that all aspects of current engineering training needs (management, supervision, shop floor and technical / non-technical) are identified, and met in the most cost-effective way
You will develop and deliver an engineering training strategy that ensures engineers' competency is maintained and sustained in light of future technologies and business needs, maximising funding opportunities to minimise costs.

Engineering Training Manager Responsibilities
• Design Info project training materials and relevant ‘How To' documentation.
• Co-ordinate and implement standard training plans & carry out training classes across OpCos to enable seamless transition from SAP R3 to Infor.
• Working with communication team to enhance readiness and remove concerns/resistance to Infor.
• Manage performance of external training providers and ensure value for money is achieved
• Ensure all training content is fit for purpose and delivered to those with a training need
• Work with the Apprenticeship & Qualifications Manager to ensure that the Apprenticeship supports the Engineering strategy in terms of scope, scale and quality
• Support Trailblazer group
• Ensure that a training matrix is developed and maintained.
• Ensure training records are retained and made available
• Work with central and divisional engineering teams to develop competency ‘standard' to which engineers are assessed, with any subsequent training needs addressed
• Ensure compliance with all related regulatory and government agencies, ensuring existing and future accreditations are protected and retained
• Attend and support routine Engineering Steering Group (ESG) meetings

About you
You will have proven experience in an engineering training management position at management level, with advanced level MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and Training qualification (e.g. PTLLS or equivalent).
You will have practical engineering/ technical / industrial experience, and ideally a relevant Engineering qualification along with demonstrable continued professional development.
Ideally you will have a professional accreditation recognised within the bus industry.
Possess or be able to obtain IRTEC qualification to Master Technician level.
