Coachbuilder (010362)

We are looking for a Coachbuilder to join our team in Bath.

As a Coachbuilder you will undertake the repair and maintenance of vehicle bodywork, carry out routine bodywork inspections and servicing in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and flexible with a keen eye for safety, plus an ability to work efficiently and to a timely high standard.

We offer a salary of £30,500 per annum (£14.63p/h Tue – Fri + £16.63 p/h Sat) and your working hours will be 39 per week

Working practices include:

  • To diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used within defined quality standards and within the most cost effective manner.
  • To carry out repairs to vehicles which have sustained accident damage
  • To carry out body work repairs in preparation for MOT testing
  • To carry out vehicle servicing in accordance with central engineering SOPs.
  • To record individual job times for the repair action either manually or electronically.
  • To ensure parts replaced under warranty are returned to stores fully labeled and in a clean condition.
  • To ensure all parts are booked out from stores using the correct procedure.
  • To adhere to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and the return of all tools and equipment to their designated place.
  • To carry out routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable, in accordance to central engineering SOPs and VOSA testing requirements.
  • To attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries.
  • To carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.

Technical Knowledge and Training:

  • Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent.
  • Welding experience preferable.
  • Must be in possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence and forklift truck licence.
