Business Analyst

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our busy team in Leeds!

As a Business Analyst you will have overall responsibility for understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders

You will be able  demonstrate a track record of reviewing current processes and applying your skills to design and transition to new operating processes and procedures with a strong emphasis on governance, risk and compliance.  This will include assisting in defining the business requirements and configuration of our next generation of cloud-based IT solutions.

What will you do?

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the project team.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements
  • Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to colleagues.
  • Performing user acceptance testing.
  • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Updating, implementing and maintaining procedures.

Skills & Experience


  • Experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to decide acceptable solutions.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience leading and developing top performing teams.
  • Demonstratable experience of leading or supporting successful projects 


  • Experience of working in a transactional environment, such as a Shared Service Centre
  • Working with SharePoint and Nintex forms
  • Lean Sigma

What do we do?

First Bus Shared Services Centre (SSC) is in the heart of the First Bus business, providing critical transactional services including the First Bus National Contact Centre.  You will be a part of the Services Delivery Team in SSC, delivering strategic projects and continuous improvement to the processes, applications and systems we use across SSC to meet our customers' needs. 

You will be required to support the delivery of small changes and support projects on larger scale initiatives to meet the needs of our business and customers.
