Rail Replacement Coordinator (SWR)

Coordinator (on the ground Customer Service)

As one of our Coordinators, you'll be the face of First Travel Solutions, providing customer assistance on the ground to passengers using our transport services. If you have a passion for customer service and you would like to work flexible hours to suit you, then we'd like to hear from you.

About the role:

You will be working on a casual, annualised hours contract (with a minimum of 10 hours work per year). Shifts are offered as and when we have operations running, giving you a variety of shifts, times and locations, and working hours that suit you. For this reason, our Coordinators come from all walks of life and many choose to work for us alongside other jobs.

Covering the south of the UK, SWR operates over 180 stations, with a network stretching from Weymouth to London Waterloo. Our Coordination work would be based at key stations across the network, depending on the area of rail disruption. 

The key stations we are looking to recruit for are as follows;

Clapham Junction
Exeter St Davids

What you'll need:

We are looking for enthusiastic, approachable individuals who know how to provide a great customer experience. A good communicator who gets on well with people, you must be patient, reliable and calm under pressure. You'll also have the flexibility to work varied shift times, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Specifically, we are looking to recruit Coordinators who live within a 10 mile radius of the above mentioned stations. We also require a brief statement attached to your application detailing any previous experience you may have of working within the Transport Industry.

First Travel Solutions (FTS) is the provider of rail replacement services to FirstGroup's rail companies, including South Western Railway (SWR). We step in during times of rail disruption to ensure that passengers can continue their journey seamlessly, with minimal disruption, using our rail replacement services.

Please note that interviews for this role will be taking place on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th December. If you are successful, the training will be conducted on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December.
