Data Insights Analyst

We are recruiting several Data Insight Analysts to join the analysis team within the First Rail Divisional team. You will liaise and work with our existing businesses to develop commercial and operational initiatives. You will also work on projects for the Shadow Operator and be responsible for providing persuasive and insightful analysis. This is a demanding role where attention to detail is paramount. This is an ideal time to join the First Rail Divisional team, as you will be given exposure to a wide range of experiences and developmental challenges and will play an instrumental role in ensuring the future success of the business.

Your responsibilities as a Data Insight Analyst will include:

• Collating and analysing relevant information to support Shadow Operator development including in-depth data analysis of business performance;
• Conducting research via a wide variety of industry and data sources;
• Developing complex models to assess and forecast revenue, costs and operational performance;
• Working with colleagues to evaluate business cases and strategy for innovative business initiatives;
• Drawing conclusions from findings and communicating ideas and recommendations through written and verbal presentations; and
• Supporting the preparation of reports and models for internal reviews and submission to the DfT.

About you

A graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree in a numerical discipline. Key skills and experience include:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with an ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyse data, establish facts and make valid conclusions
• Possess organisation, planning and problem-solving skills
• Be able to communicate, network and build a rapport with people throughout the business
• Commercially savvy, able to challenge your own and other's thinking
• Have a high attention to detail
• Be able to prioritise workloads and work to challenging deadlines
• Operate within confidential requirements
