Change Leader

We are looking for a Engineering Change Leader to join our team. The location for this position is flexible, but please be aware that there is a high degree of travel / living away potentially. This would be on a 4 month fixed term contract.

As an Engineering Change Leader you'll be working as part of a wider multifunctional team to transform our approach to maintenance, deliver step change in efficiency and ultimately improve the customer offering and business sustainability. This project will create a standardized way of working across all maintenance locations enabling us to bring a range of best practices together.

Engineering Change Leaders will guide and manage change teams, typically made up of between 2-3 change agents, to ensure the successful delivery of a tactical implementation plan; this will be achieved through effective coaching, support and day-to-day management of the change agents.

This is a high-profile change programme that will provide successful change leaders with knowledge and a range of experiences that are likely to expand future career opportunities within the business.

Key Accountabilities

The Change Leader will  have responsibility for supporting and coaching the local depot engineering teams to ensure engagement, involvement and skill development for long lasting, effective change; whilst developing and refining the plan based on the specific requirements of the depot. Other responsibilities are:

 

  • Ensuring full understanding, definement and delivery of the EMS (Engineering Management System) Tactical Implementation Plan to ensure successful roll-out, implementation.
  • Perform observations, interviews and data analysis to quantify the improvement potential of the current state; involving and engaging local leadership teams; asking for insight and providing regular feedback
  • Holding problem-solving sessions with the local leadership teams, requiring effective facilitation skills and the ability to question in a positive manner
  • Training and coaching of depot leadership teams on implementation of new processes; taking time to ensure they are fully aware of and understand the change and its goals, and the process of its implementation
  • Organise, support and manage Change Agents ensuring they are clear on the purpose, goals and process of the change plan and that they are fully supported in progressing it.
  • Participate in forums and meetings to resolve problems and provide feedback and updates; sharing best practice, removal of barriers and other concerns with the wider team.

Skills & Experience

  • Able to work in a complex operating environment and be able to guide and influence others by modelling positive behaviours.
  • Demonstrable record of achievements showing delivery of major change or sustained improvement, ideally (but not essentially) within an operational, maintenance or engineering environment
  • A strong communicator who is open minded to new ideas and able to question and influence thinking of experienced colleagues' resistant to change to deliver transformational change
  • Strong advocate of Health and Safety 
  • Highly motivated and results-driven with a strong ability to get into the detail when necessary
  • A team player, who is wholly committed to working with and supporting colleagues to achieve success
